Summit ElderCare appoints Petra Flock, M.D., to medical staff
Worcester, Mass., June 28, 2010―Summit ElderCare®, a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), announces the appointment of Petra Flock, M.D., as a member of the Summit ElderCare medical team. A geriatrician, Dr. Flock will provide comprehensive medical care to Summit ElderCare program participants, including chronic disease management, acute care and preventive care. She will work with other Summit ElderCare team members who specialize in the care and support of older adults to provide coordinated care and services that allow participants to remain in their own homes and communities as an alternative to nursing home placement.
Dr. Flock comes to Summit ElderCare from UMass Memorial Medical Center, where she served as a staff geriatrician.
A resident of Worcester, Dr. Flock obtained her medical degree from Heinrich-Heine-University in Dusseldorf, Germany. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Texas in Galveston.
She is board certified in internal medicine, geriatrics and palliative care, and currently serves as an assistant professor of geriatric medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
