Summit ElderCare appoints Tanya D. Campus, M.D., to medical staff

Tanya Campus, MDWorcester, Mass., February 11, 2009―Summit ElderCare®, a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), announces the appointment of Tanya D. Campus, M.D., as a member of the Summit ElderCare medical team at its Leominster location. In this role, Dr. Campus will provide comprehensive medical care to Summit ElderCare participants, including chronic disease management, acute care and preventive care. She will work with other Summit ElderCare interdisciplinary team members who specialize in the care of older adults to provide coordinated care and services that enable program participants to remain living in their own homes as an alternative to nursing home placement.

Dr. Campus comes to Summit ElderCare from Pittsfield Health Care Center in Pittsfield, Maine, where she maintained a private practice, providing inpatient medicine in a 25-bed hospital, outpatient medicine and care for nursing home patients.

A resident of Lunenburg, Mass., Dr. Campus obtained a bachelor’s degree in human ecology from Cornell University, and received her medical degree from the Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. She completed her residency in family medicine and completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency.

She is board certified in family practice, board eligible in geriatrics, and is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the Society for Teachers of Family Medicine.
