Fallon Senior Plan presents a “Senior Spectacular”
Worcester, Mass., October 10, 2007—Seniors and caregivers are invited to attend the 2007 Senior Spectacular on Tuesday, October 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the DCU Center in Worcester.
The Senior Spectacular is presented by Fallon Senior Plan™, a leading Medicare health plan, and the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, the region’s premier newspaper. Admission is free and pre-registration is not required. Free parking is available at the parking garage across the street from the DCU Center, which is located at 50 Foster St.
Handicap accessible transportation is also available. There will be transportation to and from the Leominster Senior Center, 5 Pond St., Leominster; Gardner Senior Center, 294 Pleasant St., Gardner; Fitchburg Senior Center, 14 Wallace Ave., Fitchburg; Hubbard Regional Hospital, 340 Thompson Rd., Webster; Worcester Senior Center, 128 Providence St., Worcester; and the Beechwood Hotel, 363 Plantation St., Worcester.
Enjoy a full day of entertainment, workshops, exhibits, health screenings and seminars. New this year, the event will feature a Legislative Pavilion, giving seniors and their caregivers an opportunity to meet area legislators and discuss issues that are important to them. More than 80 exhibitors will be on-site to provide information about different products and services.
- SilverSneakers® Fitness Program will offer interactive exercise demonstrations geared toward older adults.
- Take advantage of the numerous free health and wellness screenings—bone density, cholesterol, glucose, skin analysis, blood pressure and body fat.
- Stay informed. Attend educational seminars on topics such as Fallon Senior Plan, saving money on prescriptions, and resources for caregivers. Participate in workshops on floral decorating for the holidays, line dancing, surfing the Internet and polymer clay jewelry.
- Steven Brenner – The Amazing Magician will take the stage with his rabbits, pigs, birds and more! Who knows what he’ll pull out of his hat!
- The Ballroom Dancers of Central Massachusetts will take to the dance floor with their graceful moves.
- Musical performance by guitarist Ron Goldman. Enjoy as he performs a wide variety of popular music from the Great American Songbook.
- Live Music with Cranberry Jam. Your toes will be tapping to all your favorite tunes.
- Enjoy tons of free samples, great giveaways and fabulous raffle prizes. Raffle winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m. and you must be present to win!
