Worcester, Mass., June 25, 2007―Summit ElderCare, a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) sponsored by Fallon Community Health Plan, announces the appointment of Donna M. Ferro, MSW, LICSW, as Social Worker of its new Summit ElderCare site, which is currently under construction in Leominster and scheduled to open this summer. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, Ferro will participate in creating an overall plan of care for participants, while serving as a critical link between Summit ElderCare's staff, the participants, their family and their caregiver(s), thus ensuring that everyone’s needs are considered.
Ferro comes to Summit ElderCare from the Worcester Skilled Care Center where she served as Director of Social Services. In this role, she managed services for more than 100 residents, and provided individual and group therapy to both residents and family members.
A resident of Worcester, Mass., Ferro graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the Rutgers University. She also completed her master’s degree in social work at Rutgers University School of Social Work in 2001.
Summit ElderCare is sponsored by Fallon Community Health Plan, and is one of six PACE programs in Massachusetts and more than 40 programs nationwide.
